Aloe vera is one of the staple ingredients in our kitchen. Truth be told we grow a couple of them in compartments for both topical and culinary employments. This plant can do amazing things to a human body including boosting immune system,promoting digestion, detox, anti-inflammation and it is a nutrient and mineral powerhouse with 12 nutrients, 20 minerals and 19 amino acids.
Ingredients:
• 1 ready frozen banana
• 1 aloe vera leave
• ½ ripe mango
• cup of coconut water
• 10 mint leaves
• 1 tsp. ground coconut meat
Directions:
1. Remove the skin of the mango cut the flesh into chunks.
2. Stand the aloe leave up in a glass for 5-10 minutes to allow
the yellow sap drain. If you skip this step your smoothie will
end up a bit bitter. Wash the Aloe Vera leave and pat dry.
Place it on a chopping board and cut off the pointy rough edges
on 2 sides of the leave by running your knife from the top to
bottom of the leave. Slice the leave length-wise. Now you have
2 Aloe Vera flaps with gel-like meat inside. Scoop out the aloe
gel on both flaps.
3. In a fast blender, first mix frozen banana with
coconut water until there are no lumps left. Include mango,
Aloe Vera gel, mint leaves and mix until smooth. Top with
ground coconut meat and enjoy.
